作者简介

作者簡介雷祥麟（Sean Hsiang-lin LEI）臺灣大學化學學士、芝加哥大學化學碩士、科學史博士，中央 研究 院 近代史 研究所研究員兼所長，陽明交通大學 科技 與社會研究所合聘教授，East Asian Science, Technology and Society: An International Journal 創刊成員及副主編 ( 2016 - 2020 )。曾榮獲國際東亞科學、技術與醫療史學會（International Society for the History of East Asian Science, Technology and Medicine）所頒發的竺可楨青年學者獎（ 2005 ）、中央研究院年輕學者研究著作獎（ 2006 ）、科技部傑出研究獎（2016）。所著Neither Donkey Nor Horse : Medicine in the Struggle Over China’s Modernity榮獲美國醫學史學會（American Association for the History of Medicine）所頒發之William Welch Medal （2016），以及中央研究院 人文 及社會科學學術性專書獎 （ 2015 ）。普林斯頓高等研究院成員（ 2013 －14），哈佛大學燕京學社訪問學人（ 2004 －05）。譯者簡介陳信宏專職譯者， 台灣 大學外國語文學系畢業。曾獲全國大專翻譯比賽文史組首獎、梁實秋文學獎及文建會文學翻譯獎等翻譯獎項，目前為專職譯者。譯有《1491：重寫哥倫布前的 美洲 歷史 》《 全球 化的時代》《決戰熱蘭遮》《公司與幕府》。

内容简介

Sean Hsiang-lin Lei is associate research fellow at the Institute of Modern History, Academia Sinica, Taiwan; associate professor at the Institute of Science, Technology, and Society at National Yang-Ming University; and a member of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. He lives in Taipei, Taiwan.
